after doing some dry fitting of parts for this kit I realised this wasn't going to be a great build dur to the mix of old old airfix and newish airfix , I say newish as this is clearly not the new tool of airfix today

The kit is a mixture of two kits but if you thought about I think you could build any Mk of mossie complete with ordinance

I opted to build the FB Mk VI as you don't see many kits of this variant

Was that the kit that came with 2 fuselages / wings Alan?

I think it looks great, the feathering on the camo is becoming your trademark! :)

Thanks folks I appreciate the kind words :)

I don't think I have done it just due to feeling a little out of sorts over Christmas and I know I could have done better :)

yes mate this is the Airfix Pr XVI kit :)

All this feathering is practice for a number of German armour and soft skins I want to do the camo for :)

I think you have done it justice mate, looks great, the nose looks good and the overall paintwork looks tops.

Si:)

Nice work Alan I really like the Mosquito and that looks very good indeed

Thanks for the kind comments I appreciate them :)

I am surprised no one has noticed anything odd with this build , now this could be due to how friendly this site is and people noticed but didn't want to trash someone's build or they just accepted it as it was a way to build the MkVi

Now I've brought this to your attention and you now know that I built this spacific and for a reason can anyone tell me what this is :D

You've used the mk16 canopy and two stage Merlins.Neither were fitted to the mk6.I didn't say anything as I didn't want to be a rivet counter and annoy you Alan!.

Yes I have done exactly that and I added something else but I can assure you this aircraft existed and flew :D

Hard to tell from your pics. But have you fitted the bulged bomb bay doors as well?.Plus I think they had done away with HF antenna wires when this mark was in service.Though there's probably a photo of the real aircraft to show I'm wrong ?!.

I have added the 4,000lb bomb bay , I also painted over the Perspex nose and drilled holes to fit the 20mm cannons to look like .........wait for it ......... Wing commander Roy Grants mosquito from 633 squadron :D

Oh by the way dave thanks for pointing out the antenna looks like I should be more observant :D

So you've built a movie star?!.Anything goes then.As for the antenna,I hate doing the bloody things so do a bit of research to see if they were actually fitted. And I thought the nose looked a bit odd .But looking at your pics on my iPhone i couldn't work out what it was .

Yeah I looked at all the bits in this kit and thought I wonder and then sat down and watched the movie twice picking out all the the little adaptions they made and I still missed the antenna lol

But I did spot the tractor pulling the mossie and an Alvis Saracen armoured personnel carrier be used by the Germans :D
