It's been a minute since I last posted anything on here... life just gets in the way..

Anyhow I started this way back in April, and just plodded along with it as and when I could.
A very well designed build from Airfix,
Highly recommend it, it's literally Airfix's answer to Tamiya's well known 'shake and bake' style, everything pops together with no messing around at all.
Finished it as the Hunter that Alan Pollock flew under Tower bridge back in 1968...( the only thing I had to change is that the front 'squadron flash' markings had his name written above it, obviously added after the event..I removed this as it wouldn't haver been on the actual aircraft when he used it...it wasn't his aircraft apparently)

One thing to note though is, the holes you need to drill for the underwing tanks, it would seem Airfix tell you to drill out the wrong holes, so check carefully before you apply drill to plastic..
And get ready for some mega decal applying session(s), there's gotta be at least 100 various stencil markings on this aircraft...(ask me how I know..lol)

WOW CHRIS this hunter is one fab model as one of the most detailed models ive seen an the paintwork is brillant very well done sir i like very much an what happened to him after he flew the jet through tower bridge did he get court martialed ?

In answer to your question I lifted this from 'wikipedia'..

I once had a free guided tour of the Hendon museum; they'd been calling for anyone interested in the tour to meet under the nose of the Lancaster, but I was the only one who showed up! My tour guide whose name I'm ashamed to say I've forgotten was a member of Pollock's unit.
Very informative tour although he mostly wanted to talk about the Hunter!

Yeah, unfortunately it was,
The 2015 Shoreham Airshow crash was, after various investigations attributed to pilot error, He was too low to perform a loop, and as it reached the bottom the aircraft hit the road.
