Airfix 1/72 Blackburn Buccaneer S.2C

Thanks guys for such positive posts.
All the decals are now on, at least all that I intend to use. Some were so tiny, just pinhead sized dots, that they were beyond me and I doubted they would be noticed anyway. I suppose I've used about 75%.

The front aftermarket FOD covers did not have any decals provided so I've used a couple of unused kit ones.

Just got to stick it all together and add a little weathering.

Loving the undercarriage Jim. So realistic, just what I remember. Intake and exhaust blanks look very good too, amazing what difference a tine decal makes, just adds that extra dimension to the reality of it all. Looking forward to this-un being placed in 'Fly-One'.

Jim,
Very sorry I missed this build, even in the jig it looks like a Buccaneer should look. Will now wait for the finished item which I know is going to be top drawer material.

Great work Jim. As for tiny decals, I quite agree. I normally keep applying until bored.

Completed. The base is a cut down one from Coastal Kits. It is actually HMS Ark Royal, the sister ship to HMS Eagle. The model is not fixed onto the base and the wings are only dry fit as I may do more light weathering at some stage. A very nice kit, went together well. Shame Airfix didn't include the option of a folded nose cone but my scratched one works OK.

A huge thank you to all who have supported this build. As I've so often said - It is a real boost to have positive comments from fellow modeller whose work I admire.
