My "back to basics" build of the Airfix 1/775 Cutty Sark (A68215) which was knocked out in just over a week.

It was built for the ATF 2021 Airfix Starter Kit GB, where we could only use the paints, glue and brush that came with the set. The paint consisted of Black, White, Cream and Copper. In addition sprue cutters, sanding board and a craft knife could be used. No filler, rigging, masking, airbrushing, enamel paints etc allowed.

This was bit of a learning curve as I use enamels as a rule and have only used acrylics once before about ten years ago. An interesting build to say the least with all of the restraints in place but enjoyable nonetheless.

Great build on such a small ship!! That paint pot puts it into perspective!!

Hi Dave
An excellent result especially given the restrictions imposed by the GB.

Thanks everybody for your comments. :thumb2:

It was just the thing to free my mind of fog before I start on my 1,700 piece Hobbyboss 1/72 Dora Railway Gun! Talk about going from one extreme to another.

Looks lovely and that is a lot of sails.

When Spike Milligan first set eyes on Harry Secombe, who was wearing shorts, he described him as looking like 'a tea clipper in full sail'. I know what he meant now :)
