Something that spectacular surely would\ said:Very interested in the Shackleton myself. I saw one fly as a kid, that image has stuck with me forever.
I agree. The last good model they did was the 1:24 typhoon. They should make a few more large scale aircraft. And some more cars\ said:ZERO interest in almost ANYTHING from Airfix these days.
All they EVER seem to do is re-hash the same-old same-old.
They have clearly forgotten that CARS even exist, yet the global market for car kits is gigantic.
If Tamiya, Aoshima, Fujimi and even Revell can continually pump out new car kits, WHY can't Airfix make a few?
It's hardly as if there's no market for them - and they allready have a vast catalogue of 'nearly-ready' from their Scalextric range.
Airfix? - call them Dullfix.
An interesting point of view. Which Airfix New Tool kits have you tried which brought you to this conclusion ?\ said:The last good model they did was the 1:24 typhoon.
I can understand a car person being disappointed with their range, they do seem to focus on aircraft a lot, which of course does suit me.\ said:ZERO interest in almost ANYTHING from Airfix these days.

Got the typhoon in my stash. I like the way its put together. But I think the moulding itself is average compared to other kit manufacturers out there.\ said:An interesting point of view. Which Airfix New Tool kits have you tried which brought you to this conclusion ?
I agree with your point on the vehicles, they have many military vehicles, but no small civillian cars. They mainly have rally/racing cars or sports cars.\ said:ZERO interest in almost ANYTHING from Airfix these days.

I don't have the large Typhoon, but have built four of their small offerings and have to say the "price per detail" ratio is very good. New Tool of course, not the old stuff !\ said:Got the typhoon in my stash. I like the way its put together. But I think the moulding itself is average compared to other kit manufacturers out there.
It seems to me airfix is just releasing small scale spitfires. Would be nice if they realesd more large scale aircraft with the same level of detail as the typhoon
