I agree, women have regular checks over a certain age, but not for men, it affects 1 in 8 men, which is quite high

Especially since prostate cancer recently became the most commonly diagnosed cancer, overtaking breast cancer.

I did a Macmillan course where they discussed ways of coping after treatment....... 8 guys with prostate cancer..... At different stages of treatment having different kinds of treatment....... And 8 women with breast cancer doing the same........ The one interesting thing was they didn't have a clue about our cancer and were horrified by what we went through..... Quite enlightening lol

It's such a simple (and cheap for the nhs) test, I urge every man over 50 to get tested regularly

Those odds get worse if you are black/Asian as it goes to 1 in 4.........and if there's a family history of cancer it drops even more

Ive found I've become a bit of a preacher........ I will talk to any one about it and urge them to get tested....... It's also easy and with a high success rate to treat if it's caught early enough

I hate cancer with a passion..... My wife died from it, I'm in remission, her best friend died two weeks ago, funeral two days ago..... Hate it

Glad that you got it sorted on the quick and that all went well.
Get well soon. remember that when you are on your feet for real, you owe your wife a proper slap-up meal, in a proper restaurant Knifes and Forks and all that.
Many happy returns with your 25th wedding anniversary.

I owe her more than that, I would have been lost without her, people keep asking how I am, but she is going through this as well, and people forget the partners.

Hope you get well soon John and all works OK... Glad they managed to get you in and sorted so quick..

I'm very happy that you have had a positive outcome, and wish you the very best in your recovery phase.

Glad all is well with you now John, We here all pray for your continued well being.
My Colleen has been diagnosed with type two diabetes and is on the proper meds but it is no picnic
as she still has not quite assimilated to the treatments. I give her all the support I can and hopefully
her side effects will calm down.
I myself though recovering quite well from my horrendous leg injury requiring several surgeries am
now dealing with severe carpel tunnel symptoms that are near debilitating.
Add on arthritis and for a man like myself who has worked with his hands his whole life it can become
quite depressing. But I refuse to give in, I soldier through doing what must be done and deal with the pain later.
I have nerve tests and a surgeon's appointment next month so hopefully I can get this taken care of.
Am trying not to let my modeling suffer and am working on a dio which I hope to finish soon.

I feel terrible at times because I cannot be "Johnny on the spot" like I always have been and though
I have a loving and hard working immediate family sometimes I do feel a burden.
Things are a bit slow in the woods now as it is the mud season so property maintenance is the thing now.
The missus has been complaining about errant limbs and leaning dead and dying trees threatening our
private road up the mountain. It's as the old saying goes ' the cobbler's wife has holes in her shoes'
So I must get on it and get it safe, luckily the boys aside from some equipment maintenance will have the
time to help.

Do take care and listen to the docs, I'm sure you have many, many more productive years to come.
Know you are on the list of all those we pray for and may God bless you and your family.

Jim and Clan.
