Oh and as you can also see I need to replace the filter and paper lining in my spray booth, and also the paper I use to protect the table I use.....nooooooooo idea how long that has been down but it judging by the wear and tear, and colour, it has seen a lot of use and sunlight!

I'm reading his book now. He describes his first flight in one of these. Of course, no two seat trainers back then. Get in and good luck.

I've got it too. There are a couple of quite emotional bits towards the end. And it's also very clear that right up until the end, they were still in the thick of it and getting badly punished in some cases, as you will read.

That looks brilliant andrew , in fact seeing this go together has made me hungry for a typhoon/ tempest so ive ended up getting the Airfix Typhoon !

OK chaps, so I'm calling this finished.....and in record time by my standards too...about 6 weeks!

Below is an impromptu taster shot but it will probably have to wait until tomorrow before I can get the full set done.

Thanks for the support along the way.

Apologies for the tardy response.
Aircraft are not in my wheelhouse at all so accuracy of shape, colours go straight over my head but I can appreciate a superbly built and painted model whatever the genre. Your build is so realistic and I especially like the modulation of the metal panels, one day maybe I will attempt a military aircraft and hope that it comes close to yours.

Thanks Stefan for the support and understand what you mean....I often see builds and think that's not my 'thing' but can nonetheless appreciate the result and the work that has gone into it.

It was also really good to put a face to a name at the De Havilland show. Perhaps see you there next year.

Excellent result Andy. The various tones in the silver finish can clearly be seen. Nice one.

Excellent!
Steve

Thanks for the support chaps and obviously pleased that you like it. I'll get the final pics up shortly.

Tony - Good choice on the Airfix Tiffy. IIRC it was one of the earlier new toolings after they started to up their game in the mid-2000s, so it's not quite up to the standard of the Tempest kit but it goes together pretty well and you obviously get the option of doing it gun bays open, as I did with the one I finished earlier this year.

Thanks again chaps!
