Hi All,
thanks to Andy Belsey posting a link to his shaving Kiwi on Planet Figure it seems like I have finally caught up with all my fellow Mil Modders!

For those who were never there and don't know , I am in charge of a model making team for a London based firm of architects.; although I get paid for it I can't really call myself a professional model maker as I don't make models at work any more. My main passion is figure sculpting but much as I love Planet Figure I was missing my fix of planes and tanks, so I'm really glad to have finally found this forum.
I did eventually finish the SM55 floatplane AND delivered it in time for Christmas, so my spare time is now my own again!
I will post some final pics soon.
My current project is the 1/72 Airfix Higgins Boat with a full load of GIs, so I will post that soon as well- don't have any shots of it yet, although it's nearly finished.
Oh and I am of 1957 Vintage -which may explain my lack of social media savvy!
Anyway , here I am and very happy to be here.
cheers
Neil

Hi Neil, long time no see. Missed the final stages of the SM55 so am glad you will be posting piccies of it. Nice bunch of guys here so you'll feel at home.

Cheers,
Richard

Neil,
welcome - you really shouldn't depend on satnav for directions! There'a fair few of us from that site, but this is, in fact much more cosy!, and is now home!

Neil, welcome to the asylum. Being involved with that other group whose name we do not mention, you will know what I mean.
There is a very large group of refugees here and I swam in on the tide after them. Sort of like a rat off of a sinking ship:smiling5: I look
forward to seeing your work. Welcome again, Rick H.

many thanks for the welcome. I'm loving it here!
I'm surprised to find how much I have missed the interaction with like minded people.
You would think that being a professional model maker that wouldn't be an issue, but my team are all much younger and not interested in this stuff.
To be fair they are not unsympathetic, but they don't get it like we do:nerd:.
