Hi Lads

Started this last week, picked up from my local MS (Hannants-Hendon).

Not an easy build but progressing well at the moment. Just putting these

pics to ease my way in-OK?

Will post more as I get on,

Regards,

Pierre77(Pete).

Looks an excellent kit peter, quite a complicated job too with all the resin and PE!!! cheers tony

Been wondering what their kits are like, so I will be watching this.

What I have seen thus far looks promising.

Thanks Tony,

I do feel more comfortable with it now I am making some progress

with the pit. I was not happy about doing the IP but have got the back

plate on and will do the panel on top over the weekend. Will then do

some pics. Could be a nice model when built.

Pete.

Hi Ian,

It's possibly the most tricky job i've done to date mainly because I have

never tackled resin (three bags of) or PE but I have learnt a lot this week

and would not be too worried about in for future builds.

Cheers Ian,

Pete.

Never tackled resin? Make sure you wear a facemask when cutting/sanding it.

Beat me to it Snapper!

An other thing that helps a lot is a damp cloth on the table. All the dust sticks to the cloth instead of flying around in the air with the slightest draft.

I know some people also sand it with wet and dry. No dust in the air but a messy goup instead!

Just remember to check the fit often and remove a bit more if need be.

As for the PE I can recommend that you soften parts that need to be bent into curves or need to be folded right at the edge of the part. Just heat it with a lighter (hold the part in tweezers) until it just starts to glow deep red, then let it cool naturally. This will make it a lot easier to form. If you need to harden it again, heat it up and then quench it in cold water.

It does look a good kit of an interesting aircraft.

Thanks for the info Ian but do you knowif this procedure will harm

the colours? But as I have already built the IP it won't effect any other parts.

If you mean the heating up of PE parts, then yes it will most likely burn the paint off. I have never used pre-painted PE so I did not think of mentioning that this is only applicable to "raw" PE that is PE that has NOT been painted!!!

Sorry if you fried them.
