Hi Steven,

First picture with it slightly off vertical looks best - ones I’ve seen before in picture never seem to dangle straight. Probably the ballasts and other control gear throw the centre of gravity off

Veeeery small progress still working on the convenience storr to get that ramshackle looted look had some arab cardboard boxes you can just make them out behind the counter-very authentic and all that but they looked bland so I am working on using some with very recognisable brands instead here in various stages of construction

DIY Rebared concrete:
Pour one layer let set,add rebar (in a grid pattern) glue these to the surface to stop them moving around then pour second layer let set and then comes the fun part: smash it and use the pieces you need.
This method works well for
showing the rebar through holes in the middle of a slab or slabs still connected by the rebar
You can use regular plaster but i would use plaster of paris - a piece of plaster with lenghts of wire running all the way through is surprisingly durable and hard to crack

Thanks gents
Remembet the improvised mortar? I am planning to build a protective barrier around the position and have toyed with the idea of having it consist of piles of some sandbags on top , rubble and oil drums filled with sand/ rubble they face inwards on the pic's but i have yet to decide which way they will face ,- iam leaning towards having them face the viewer as they add a bit of interest to the edge of the dio
