Chris, I am in total AWE of your brain power and commitment on this. I reckon there should be a new award; the LION'S dangly bits!

Just caught up again - fantastic work, and I'm sure that the committee will come up with a fantastical award, as I'm in agreement with Neil on the lions dangling bits award!
The possible solution to the guns not dropping wouldn't involve knicker elastic would it?;) :smiling2: as soon as I read about the problem I thought a very light spring might do it?

AN HI Gerry how did you guess about ladyies nicker elastic ? was it when i said about ladyies ? as yes thats what im waitin on as it should stretch just nice but not to strong that the micro servo wont pull up an elevate the guns so see how i get on with it when it comes or as you say a light spring out of a pen may do it will see how it all goes an thank you sayin i desever the lions dangle bits lol ;) :rolling::smiling:

Make sure the elastic is easily replaced Chris. It degrades with time.
WELL Tim i will try my best an fit a tiny screw to hold it in place but if that dont work then i'll have to C/A it but only as last resort

Wondering if you've thought about a tiny 'torsion spring' they seem to be used for a lot of things nowadays and you might be able to get one in a very low 'weight' which would just be fitted to the axle?

NO can do Gerry very good idea thanks but the axle bar is all covered in so elestic may be the way or as i said to Tim a light strechy spring from a pen maybe my best bet as as the micro servo's are not that strong

Oh, and yes, it was when you mentioned 'ladies' :smiling2: :smiling2:
OH DEAR i dint think anyone would pick up on it i see your brain is firein on all cylinders lol but well done a gold star for you me chappie

I might well be wrong, but I'm thinking that a pen spring might be too strong (even compressing, rather than stretching) as they're a fairly strong wire and wound rather 'tight' - you may find that you might have to stretch and cut one to reduce the number of coils to 'soften' it

Just had another look Chris. Couldn’t you just replace the flexible link between the servo and the barrels with a wire link? The servo should move the barrels up and down then. If you are worried about the servo being over stressed at the end of the run just put an omega loop like this
https://anticsonline.uk/Product/GEM-1005-Mercontrol-Omega-Loop-Wire-Pack-of-6-loops_1005_N2410311
In the wire. Don’t buy them, just form it with round pliers. If you use thin nickel silver, or even phospher bronze, wire you will get no problems as it will hold the shape nicely.

HI Gerry yes i'll try the nicker elastic first then the spring like you say an see what works but i havnt got much room to work in only an inch but will see how it goes but need that gun unit first
cheers for info an your intrest
