Scale Model Shop

Brian's Caldercraft 1/72 HMS Victory

Coming on beautifully (reminds me of a young female Police Officer I was briefly familiar with - nothing like a well formed copper bottom ...) Sorry! But once again, coming on beautifully mate!

Cheers guys, did a bit this morning but got to admit I'm not looking forward to all the cuts :( and I'm wasting a few plates due to me not being 100% happy.
Steve my sister was a copper lol

Amazing. Might try a little vinegar on a buggered piece.

Rather than vinegar try a little natural yogurt - very effective and not so corrosive!

does the yoghurt dull it or get some colour (green)

Dulls it initially but produces verdigris later mate

Be aware Brian, acetic acid (vinegar) and copper produces verdigris, which is poisonous. There are commercial patination solutions that may be a little safer…..and Vallejo do a good verdigris paint wash.

Model is looking fantastic though……can’t wait for the rigging to start…..

Cheers Tim I'll take a look what's out there.

Crickey Brian. What a job. I just looked at some finished model images and it's going to look stunning. Didn't realise these ships had copper hulls

Did a bit this morning after a bit of a rest from copper plates, I really don't want this to become a chore and up to now I think it's going well !

Patience of a Saint, that's for sure.

Brian, it will well worth the effort when the copper work is completed.

Just take your time.....
