Please ignore this comment if you don't care. Stun sail booms were usually placed on top of the yards and they were attached so that they could be slid out through the metal loops, when stun sails were required. This leaves the underside of the yards clear for the regular sails to be bent on.

Like I say it's your model so feel free to mount them as you wish.
