Colin M's 1/48 Airfix Spitfire PR.XIX

The actual painting of the canopy is presenting a bit of a challenge, it looks possible that the front and rear of the middle section of canopy is frameless. I’m still trying to work this one out. Any other PR builders noticed this ?
Yes, this does look a bit like talking to myself, but I've found the evidence at last. The centre of the canopy is indeed frameless. Another quirk of the pressurised cockpit.

Interesting Colin, I didn't know but it does makes sense now with the pressurised cockpit. Goodluck :coffee:

Coming on a treat Colin. Looks a very nice kit. We rarely see these late Spitfires built, most often WW2/BoB. The info on the box - 1963 and still in use.

Here's the Ref photos I found when I did my pink PR spit, TBH I did not notice the no frame to the middle bit, so did paint a frame on mine, Doh...
Hope its ok to attach the thumbnails here, if not I'll delete them, or I can DM them to you...cheers.

Paint, paint at last. I had a few reoccurring seams to deal with but finally we are here.
I’m using a Tin of Humbrol 230, simply because I’ve got it. I last used it in 2008, when I built a Swedish pru blue Spitfire.

As you can see, it is as Matt as can be.

And after three coats of ‘Klear’ a slight shine.

Nice paint job. I'll give credit to old Humbrol tins - they certainly last.
