ta Aaron so glad that you like Erving ,and his setting and do real appreciate such kind words, ;)

He's horrible. I do mean that in a good way, poor frank' never known for his good looks. Did you use oils on this one to create the shading effect ? The shading on the face is brilliant. Do tell.............

Colin M..

its all done by acrylic Colin,I find if you can push the paint about when still wet it will let you blend, and shade,it dose not always work, but i have found,

that if you just take your time it will give a good result,in the end,

once your happy with it a that sage, let dry ,coat with matt, leave dry over night, and start the touchup ,and add or take away,

i did his face in 3 basic steps,

1st undercoat in black, then lay the basic skin tone down,

2rd them once dry go over with the dark shadow area,s eye, sside of nose, under lip ,forehead, inner cheeks lough lines, around ears,

3rd once all done start to refine what you have,I start with the eye,s working up and down,

hope that makes some sence for you, ;)

oh Dave what a build of mine without a cat in it lol,so i got sneaky and use the cat as my signature, and just blend it in a little bit

but still able to been seen

Gosh Moni, I don't know how I managed to miss this one!

That's your best one yet, the face is simply awesome! Using the shades of green to give a ghoulish look is brilliant & his clothing seems so real with the highlights on the folds of the fabric.

Top stuff!

Thanks Monica. A new technique I'll have a go at in the future.

I did find two which show, the steps, but forgot tp take the pic with the harsh green shadow lines,so that would be the middle one,

and what i did this time was mix paint ,as i never get the same shade, some base coat, was field gray, russian green, and aged white,

and them just working whit what i have to blend and refine,

on a few days old Erving won with the clothing ,i just could not get it right, with the highlights at all,so lefted him for a few days and come back to him,

as i did wont that look of the old movie,

with his face i did not work off a pic next to me,had an idea and went with that,so kind of winged that one,and it worked, lucky ha, ;)
