Looking good Dave. The Beaufighter has a nice 'sturdy' look about it.

this 'Zebra' striped Dornier:

A duck-like pattern would be so much more appropriate for that particular aircraft than zebra stripes …

This almost counts as a stalled build, but with the TK tankette, and the Provost on the go, I didn't have enough room for this large beast.
Picked it up again, and added the undercarriage - I used CA to fix, as this is quite hefty.P1060068.JPG

I had almost forgotten that the outer flap sections had stripes- I'd better add them before rockets are installed.............................

Proceeding quickly, now.....................P1060090.JPG

Still a whole host of minor parts to add, before I even think about weathering

Looking good Dave. Must be a nice change after the Provost.

Just about ready to start the weathering - the cockpit glazing has been a bit tricky to fit, I think the instrument panel is sitting a bit high - I've fettled it a bit, and now I need to use a little filler to fill in the small gaps........ P1060092.JPGP1060093.JPGP1060094.JPG

For weathering, I'm going to use the airbrush, streaks with the airflow, and behind the exhausts. I think it'll be a gradual procedure. I realise I should have left the canopies off until the weathering was just about finished!! Oh well masking fluid out again!

Dave. What interior green did you use for the build? I have the Tamiya one and it says about blending three different colours.

Al,
I used Vallejo ModelAir 71.305 Interior Grey Green - it looks a little light, but it darkens up with a wash................

I'm afraid that the Beaufighter had a bad landing accident...... OK, I dropped it, and broke off all the port rockets and snapped the undercarriage legs on one side.
I think it's salvageable ( some aluminium tube will be necessary ), but I'll put it aside, as I'm not in the mood for a tricky repair job.
I will return to it.................just not at the moment.
Dave

Sorry to hear of your mishap. I hope all gets sorted soon. :face-with-head-bandage:

Hi Dave
What a shame but I doubt there is a modeller on here who hasn't dropped a model at some stage. Sometime damage is minimal but, like in this case, damage is bad. I'm sure you will sort it sometime in the future.
Jim

Shame about that dave but we’ve all done it at some point so youre not alone. Best thing is to leave ot a few days and come back to it with a fresh outlook , its nothing that cant be repaired , cheers tony
