discussion Decanting Zap Superglue

Odd question I realise but, for reasons that I won't bore you with (the tube fell over on my workbench and stayed that way for a while) I need to decant some Zap Superglue (quick setting) into a different container.

Has anybody done this before and are there any types of container that should be avoided or that are best to use? I've got quite a few 15ml dropper bottles which would seem fine but I'm not sure if the nozzle would block. I could remove the nozzle but then I find the seal isn't air tight so premature setting could occur (and nobody wants that). I tend to use cocktail sticks to apply so I could sacrifice an old Tamiya paint pot (or just buy a new tube of superglue).

I have never had any luck decanting Super glues.
Is it because you can not open the container, or is the tip dried up hard?
If it is the lid is stuck chuck it and get a new one. I fought with one a couple of years back and ended up with the container splitting and ending up with a fist full of CA glue. Not fun.
If the tip is the issue you could be lucky that it's just the tip that has set hard. A sharp blade can often trim it enough to make it useable...for a while.

Moisture hastens the setting process so decanting is contraindicated. The tip can be drilled out if set hard.

Bottle still functions as it should but being so thin I find it runs everywhere. I think I'll stick to the "double sided tape" trick I read about elsewhere as the glue hasn't hardened and the tip still works ok.

That trick works. I’ve used it for years. Just stick some DS tape onto a scrap of wood and leave the waxy bit on the other side. Put a few drops of CA on the tape and use a scrap of wire, or a cocktail stick or some such to move the CA to the model. The pool of glue on the tape will stay workable for quite a while. Once the glue goes off pull the DS tape off the wood ready for the next go….
