Would anyone know if there are deceleration chutes available for model kits?

I would like to add one to a future build but having had a look I can't see any out there, then again I'm not the best at looking :)

Its not something ive ever come across Adrian , I imagine your only option is to scratch one. I bet its not easy to get the canopy and wires to stay horizontal though , might just have to have it touching the runway for support? cheers tony

I think a lot depends on whether you are thinking of it being deployed or at rest on the ground. For a deployed one you might want to looking into vac forming your own or something like papier mache around a mould and for a resting one I would go for painted cooking foil, which I find is very good for creating realistic smaller scale cloth such as canvas.

I was thinking of using a balloon, a thin mix of resin to cover it and cut away where I need to but that Drag one looks like something I could work with

What about using a light bulb as a mould?

When I was a kid I had one of those plastic soldiers with a parachute attached that you threw up into the air and it would come down on its parachute.Might do the job if you can still get them?.
