Fight the good fight Mick. :smiling3:
Seams.... Hmmm, that's what put me off building planes all those years ago  ..... Luckily mind, since my return to them recently,in 1/48, I've not really had an issue with them...
.... not much of a help to you.....
..... but it makes me feel better!! ;)
Good stuff though mate, you'll crack it and get a great result in the end I'm sure. :smiling3:
Cheers pal, only given in once on a model and that was because something fell on it. :smiling:
Sounds like one of the problems I had with that awful Revell Mosquito.
Pete
We all love a good fight, don't we???
Good luck with this Mick only reinforces why I pull wingy boxes from the stash the put em back again. Just for now I'll stick with the mud covered defects. Dave
I do have an armour project in the wings but not just yet
Mud covered defects are so underrated, I wish I could utilise mud more often.
I like your thinking Colin, there's a bottle of Flory wash on standby

So the battle continues, chopping, filing and swearing. Now I have two identical looking models (from a distance anyway) more filling and sanding to come.

Those two are looking fine. Patience and sanity still intact??? :rolling:

Somehow these two made to undercoat even after dropping one they would seriously try the patience of a saint but on the plus side the side windows fit nicely and the masks I got from Poland are really good. Now for some decent weather and the gods of airbrushing to smile and off we go with top coats.

Not the shape they almost ended up in. I need to put these to bed soon, move onto something that’s not old Airfix
I really think it’s time these old soldiers were retired. You are making a great job of them Mick, but it must be a real struggle.

Thanks Tim, I think I’ve been spoilt with most of the kits I’ve built, but I agree on retirement

Well Mick,
Despite all of the woes, you've got them to this stage, and they're looking good to me. :)
Carry on mate, they'll look pretty good in the end I reckon! ;)

Cant comment on their newer stuff Ive only done a couple of old airfix kits and the lifeboat im on at the the moment has reminded me why i dont generally consider airfix when buying kits.

I'm sorry Mick as I thought I had posted a comment (insult) on these before. I do have to admit that taking a huge step down in scale has not affected your modeling skills at all Sir. I would imagine staring and working with such tiny parts for so long, would induce more naps at the bench though. It appears you have whipped these into pretty good shape and the end is in sight. Drive on my friend!!!...

Prost

Don’t write them off out of hand Mark. The more recent stuff is excellent. The Katy ambulance I’m building, for example, is as good a kit as anyones. The only issues are of my own making….The Spitfire I made for the recent group build was much better than the Tamiya mosquito that was my next build, yet Tamiya are supposedly the gold standard…..

..... couldn`t agree more.....
The Boulton Paul Defiant i recently did was an absolute pleasure, and, the Blenheim i`m currently doing is proving to be just as good so far:thumb2:!

Be honest i was tempted by the 1/48 avro anson and the buckaneer .
