It's finished. If I had flags they would be flying!!
It's my first car - if I have my way - the last.
This is it! I told you it wasn't going to be a concourse entry!!!

THE END.
No more, never ever - ever doing another car.

Go on, do another, you know you really want to......
Seriously though that has come out really nicely, just the right amount of wear and tear - well done.

It might have been a fight but I think that's come out really well.

Well, you made a pretty good job of it. It looks quite used but loved.

Thank you guys for all your positiveness regards my Beetle. Encouraging as it is I think it will be a while before I tackle another four wheeler!!!

This is what I was modelling it on.(Sorry about the pun). Sat by the bonny banks of Loch Lomond.

First car, this was she after a respray following some extensive bodywork to remove loads of rusted areas. At this stage it had a donor 1300 installed and up graded brakes to make sure it stopped. It isn't as dirty as the one I made but it did get that bad a few times after some off roading to access some of the more obscure Lochs. (Loch Doon for one).
I'm the only one who has happy memories of it, SWMBO and the kids start twitching when I start talking about our days out in it!! I don't know why, all they had to do was push it - I had to pay the bills. (Of which there were a few).

That looks good Doug. As Ian said " used but loved", just how a beetle should be.

A great result Doug. A nice bit of patina, car people use that word quite a bit.
