Heres the excellent Eduard Hellcat , here as an FAA mk1 aboard HMS Indomitable , 1944 .

Cheers paul , yes thats what drew me to it , the all blue US versions dont really grab the attention , and I love a FAA dark slate grey/ extra dark sea grey scheme

Thanks steve glad you like it

Excellent finish Tony. You've highlighted all the detail brilliantly.
I don't think the actual aircraft looks quite right, its proportions seem a little odd. But just to prove I know stuff all about aircraft design, I believe its kill ratio was very impressive.

Cheers colin , I get what you mean , from some angles it looks a bit strange , the wings are very broad and the tailplanes look too long , but its combat record is unsurpassed in ww2 ( kill ratio 19:1) so they must have got something right !

Top notch work, I made this kit (badly) a few years ago, but based on it, I got a real love for Eduard kits - my stash is probably 90% Eduard or Airfix. now because of that.

But this is excellent work.

Thanks neil , yes I found it a beautiful kit to build , on a par with the best from Tamiya etc
