story

german 5th panzer regiment in the French town of falaise receive intelegence of british generals Bernard Montgomery's 7th armour brigade moving south from Caen and send the documents by motorcycle to group command on its way they take a short cut

british 7th armour bigade command in Caen realise that the west flank of the Falaise pocket is thin and could be exposed by the germans so decide to send some engineers to set up tank traps to stop any german armoured units trying to escape

the furthest south is low on vehicles so its decided that a small force is despatched with the equipment then to return to pick up the engineers , they arrive and unload the Bedford 3 tonner when they hear the sound of a motorcycle .

the german despatch riders were not expecting to see the british armourd carrier in the middle of the road as it came around the corner nor the sound of machine gun fire !

Although the action has ended you still get that heightened sense of 'relaxed but alert'. Superb dio Alan, great painting and structure of the whole scene. Excellent, enjoyed looking at this.

Cheers Si a couple of photos have come out blury so I'm going to redo those ,

I'm not entirely happy with the position of the figures

I like this a lot Alan. Nice story and excellent build.

Gern

PS Not sure if they would have left the machine-pistol on the body - even though it looks like he's definitely 'kicked the bucket!' :)

I love your MP walking towards the prisoner, has a cocky, self assured stride. Is that your finger in one of the re-shots?

Si:)

Great job alan , I love the fact that youve given us a background and the scene is the aftermath , brilliant. It means the action is imagined by the viewer and really involves you in the piece , great build mate , cheers tony

p.s. extra kudos for the bucket!!

Very nice, lots going on here.

Tell me about your mud if you don't mind, it looks wet in places, a trick of the light or deliberate - an odd question I admit, but I need to learn about mud.
