FAMO und Tiefladeanhänger

Leaving about 1.30 Sunday morning so at yours for 3.30 ? I don't mind a milk chocolate hobnob but a a lemon puff would be ace, cheers.

TBH a full English wouldn't go amiss...

I bet it wouldn`t..... very partial to fry up breakfast myself!!......
However, ringing the bell at 3:30 AM, all you`d get from Fort Smythe would be no reply:sleeping:!!....
...... if you made it more like 7:30,well,THEN,you`d be on!!;)

Not often you see Devon classed as “Up country” is it :tongue-out3: Pretty far North it is, Barnstaple maybe……
Indeed TIM......
In fact that makes you positively Icelandic!! :tears-of-joy::tears-of-joy::tears-of-joy:

Hi Dan
The tracks do look good and without too much hassle. PE grill will look far nicer.

I'm back ! It is a real hope of mine that after the current madness that my life seems to have become has subsided, I might be able to spend decent spells of time building kits.

Found a couple of hours today....

Relieved they're finished, though I'm glad I put the effort in.

I've got the place to myself this weekend, hopefully I'll make some meaningful progress on the bodywork.

Cheers,

Dan.

Hi Dan,
Firstly,welcome back, I trust you had a good trip:thumb2:,
I gotta agree with Tim here.... The paintwork on the tracks looks absolutely superb mate, nicely distressed indeed!!
If i possessed a cap i`d doff it to you for the effort you`ve put in!!
Cracking stuff,
Andy

Another big thumbs up for the finish on the tracks. Very nice indeed.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

After all that fiddling around I felt a shameless hammer at building the body was in order.

Just did enough to make it look enough like a complete vehicle without jeopardising the end result.

Pleased with the PE grill so far, definitely worth the effort.

Nice thread and lovely tracks, CarolsHusband! (I'm not risking getting your name wrong)
Hopefully the weather will stay crappy today & I can get some more in.

The best modellers live in places with the worst weather, don't they?

3 week update. Wow. 3 weeks....

Trust me, it's not for want of trying !

Got a bit of paint on the bodywork & started on the trailer. There has been a bit more progress but I'll save that for the next post. Not going to start weathering the FAMO until I've done the trailer, I'm not proficient enough to have an M.O. that can be executed weeks apart. One thing's for sure though, this is going to be the first of many Sd.Kfz 9's to grace my table..... Love 'em.

Loving that grill

I'm having a little dust-up with the wire connecting rods for the trailer steer this evening, tolerances aren't quite tight enough on the ends to stop them falling off the screws. 99/100 for Tamiya otherwise !

Plugging along a wee bit......

Underside given a bit of grime before permanent marriage to the chassis

Top half nearly assembled. Despite my best intentions I couldn't resist a bent radiator stay & hastily painted blackout fender highlights. Been messing around with the PE a bit more on this one. Already planning my next FAMO, though that one will definitely have been around a bit.

Anyway, as it stands before gentle weathering, etc...

Next up is the canvas roof, side screens & doors.

A little progress has been made.....

About a week ago, this happened.

And then over a couple of evenings of 60 minute sessions I've got this far.

Hoping to get the trailer finished & in paint by the end of the weekend, then the fun will begin.
