I've been told by a local man that the plot of land my house is on (built in 2000) used to be the village rubbish tip. With the amount of stuff I've dug up in the past I can well believe it. This is what I dug up in the past few days.

Two belt buckles. They aren't seized and must have been in the soil for over 26 years. 1 new penny for scale.

This is a close up of the buckle on the left. The writing at the top, poor picture, sorry, reads PARIS. The writing on the middle bar reads SOLIDE. Google reckons this one was made somewhere between 1860 to 1945.

I have found lots of broken crockery and bits of bottles, three hand made clay marbles and other very interesting stuff. I have my "finds" on display in my kitchen. Viewing by appointment please. There will be a small entry fee, but you get a cup of tea, no biscuits, bring yer own!
