Your "...if you have a problem that is a part of a build thread..." would have suited my recent question about the mounting of my Rolls Royce number plate, because it is specific to that or similar models. That's fine.\ said:The idea Mr Kir, is that if you have a problem that is a part of a build thread, it is or could be an issue that will common to that particular model...or just a quick general question, then you could just use the "Help with..." prefix icon, then remove it once a satisfactory reply has been given.Issues that are more general such as your mentioned bricks or thatch would be more suited to a new post in the relevant section of the forum. In that case you could include a link in both threads that will lead the reader from one to the other.
So in the build thread you could write something like: bla bla bla, but I am having problems with doing xxxxx, Please see the post in the xxxxx section her (Insert link to thread)
In the new thread you could start the post with something like; In my build of the Revell Roller (insert link) I have been having problems with doing xxxxx.
People following the build will follow the link and help with the problem and can then go back to the build again. This might also have the effect that people that only see the 'shout for help' might find the build thread and start to follow that as well...
Does that explain things? I think that this could be the simplest solution and one that we all can figure out how to do.

Well to be perfectly honest? Yes lol\ said:Have you wondered Ian "what was I doing starting all of this"![]()
Well said Ian.\ said:Well to be perfectly honest? Yes lolOn the plus side I would like to think that a) it has started a discussion and b) people might actually think more about how and where they post.
This should not be misconstrued. We still have THE best forum with the BEST members. (OK the Admin can be a bit of a PITA at times). I Just try to make it better. Not an easy job at times but 9/10 times worth the effort.
