Evenin` Guys,
Well, this won`t be a surprise to many, but my next build takes me back to WW2,and a German vehicle to boot!!......

Yes,it`s a Steyr.... and this type were actually rather large......
The kit is a yellow, soft plastic mould, and the detail is a bit of a curate`s egg....the figures are typical Tamiya... OKAY but not great......

I`m not a snob by any means, but it really is a simple fact..... The better quality your figures are..... they better you can get them to paint up... so,sorry Tamiya, but these are TOAST!!
Next up is a small example of the good detail,(In my Opinion)........

No,that`s not my sofa!! ....(I might be in Devon but even we have MFI !!!!:tears-of-joy::tears-of-joy::tears-of-joy::tears-of-joy:),Quite a nice used back seat there methinks!
As the title of the Thread kinda gave away,i shall be doing this particular build to portray it as the personal transport for a certain General Ruoff, who was the Commanding General of the 17th Army Russia,Autumn 1942.
;)

All in all it looks a nice little kit as a diversion,i`m looking forward to starting it very shortly. As i said in the vote thread, this is only meant as a quick ootb build....(well,i may dabble into the dark arts a little ;)!!),plonked on a simple base....
..... Luckily i found a plain cobbled Road,FOG Models plaster base, lurking within my "Cupboard of Unexplainable Purchases".......It`d been there for YEARS just waiting for me to remember/use it!!:dizzy:
So then Chaps,i`d better go before my battery dies!!....
That`s my plan, and it`d be great to see any of you follow along and give your thoughts, opinions and OBVIOUSLY abuse!!:smiling:
Cheers for now,
Andy

MFI, Andy you must have the one remaining store lol, i know you are in the wild down there lol

Interesting build coming up, just let me get the blasted moggie off the chair!

HA!! Yeah....
Actually Bob,i`m surprised anyone remembered MFI!! ;) .......
.... mind you,we have a new "IKEA"?!! now.....
Causing much grief i must admit...... It seems to be a BLOODY GREAT shop just to sell meat Balls:dizzy:

Herr Schmidt, was machen sie hier? You'll finish this in a weekend, make the rest of us look lazy, and just as we get off our lardy backsides to try and compete - you'll start another one! Oooh Matron - lock 'im up -he's a really naughty boy!

Interesting subject, even though I voted for the other guy…..bit of an ugly brute though isn’t it!

Hi Andy
This got my vote. These "cars" are big vehicles. Being Tamiya it should be straightforward and fit ok. If you're only using the figures inside the vehicle perhaps you could get away with just changing the heads for Hornets?
Jim

I must be getting slow, but I’ve only just realised that this is a car version of the small personnel carrier :flushed: As a vehicle it is the proverbial German solution looking for a problem…..still interesting though…..

HA!! Cheers Steve:thumb2:!!
I`m not THAT quick mate.... mind you, this kit is flying together... a real dream of a build!!;)
You`re all definitely OK for a slow time watch mind.....
.... Nurse Rach is approaching as i type........

I was going to say "Rugged good looks" or " Sturdy" but ugly brute will do just fine...
Another one for "Ugly Brute" eh Dan!!...
Well,I can`t argue with you on that one!!..... I`d love to sit in one myself, just to get a perspective of just how large these things were!

Yes,as you say,These "Cars" are certainly "BIG"!!... and, being Tamiya,a first class fit,(SO FAR!!)....
The Hornet head thing is a bit tricky,as in the past i`ve found that Tamiya Figs are a bit over sized with the Hornet Heads..... think of the the last scene of "Beetle Juice" where the Michael Keaton,as "Beetle Juice",sat in the queue at Death`s door!!;)

I'm in too Mr. Smiff as this was a really cool wagon!!! 4 WD, air cooled V-8 motor and built by Steyr-Daimler-Puch. If you should run into any probs and/or muck it up, please see my post in the Latest Acquisitions from yesterday for a solution.....Now get crackin'!!!!.....Where have I heard that before Buddy????............

Prost
Allen (Ret.)

Should I sit or stand Andy.
