Firstly thanks to Colin for suggesting and hosting this GB. It gave me the perfect reason to build this which I have had in my mind to build for a while.

Also thanks to all who have followed along and given encouragement 👍

It was a delight to build, it went together well with no problems and the decals which I had been dreading actually turned out better than I expected.

Here’s a link to the build thread for anyone interested :

So here it is my little tribute to Flt Lt Eric Stanley “Sawn Off” Lock, DSO, DFC and bar.

Thanks for looking 👍

Geoff.

Very nicely built Geoff. A great tribute to the Mk1 which I think deserves the accolade as being regarded by many as one of the nicest looking aircraft ever designed.

Superb result Geoff. It's all come together nicely for you to produce a wonderful Spitfire.

Thanks Steve, I think you’re right it is a very pretty aircraft. I do like the more brutal looking later Mks too though 😊

Thanks Joe, you’re very kind 👍

Great job Geof. I've said before, this is my favourite camo' scheme for a Spitfire, and you've done it proud.

Lovely little Spit, they really are one of those aircrafts that just look perfect, like an E-Type or a Mustang - they just look right.
