Hi again folks,

Another completed build from the Tamiya 1/16 scale figure series. This was a wonderful challenge to build and paint and am very pleased with the end result. Will hopefully add some more photos soon in natural light because artificial light doesn't do the figure justice, but just wanted to post it on here this evening regardless!

Also Merry Christmas to everyone on the forum!20211222_202807_copy_1234x1645.jpg20211222_202807_copy_1234x1645.jpg20211222_202753_copy_1281x1708.jpg20211222_202743_copy_1284x1713.jpg20211222_202730_copy_1213x1617.jpg20211222_202718_copy_1289x1718.jpg20211222_202701_copy_1233x1645.jpg20211222_202648_copy_1231x1641.jpg20211222_202613_copy_1221x1629.jpg20211222_202550_copy_1168x1557.jpg

Very nice painting Gavin. One little nit-pick with the pose, if I may. Probably the model rather than your work. He is holding the magazine of his MP40, this is the quickest way to get a jam in this weapon. This is definitely NOT a criticism of your work. Just me being pedantic-50 odd years of collecting and shooting antique and classic firearms.
Regards,
John.

Hi John,

Yeah I did actually think of this when assembling the arms/MP40; he isn't mounting the gun perfectly in his left hand. This is very awkward to get 100% right because there are so many variables (angle of the gun stock, trigger hand, arms being mounted onto the torso etc) but I see your point indeed; I am a meticulous perfectionist and welcome feedback. Well spotted and thank you. G

Update This figure has also had a makeover! I have improved the face, added highlights and shadows to the uniform, detailed the boots and attachments further and dry brushed the MP40 for a more realistic finish....enjoy!
