I've been thinking about getting a drone for a while but couldn't justify it, I still can't but thought what the hell :)

Got a Phantom 3, first couple attempt at take off ended in a crash landing taking out a number of the wife's plants at the same time :(

3rd time I managed to get it hovering, did a little spin then landed again, I'm going make sure everything is fully charged and go and find a big open space.

Can't believe how steady that is
Once you get used to it it's not that difficult to fly, and it can fly it's self, it not only works on GPS but also has some sort of radar, the technology is really quite clever

That's a cracking little toy, been wanting one for a while now, in fact ever since they got smart enough so that anyone can fly them ( no disrespect to yourself intended!). Like you I am unable to justify it, but nonetheless we all gotta have some fun sometimes. Now if put up that shelf my wife has been going on about.......

Looks very good John nice and clear pictures and very steady,

I will have to try and sneak one in ;)

So whats the heaviest parcel it can carry John , and do you think the battery will last long enough to deliver to me in Sheffield !!!?

I take it you were on board John.

Multi tasking filming and piloting. Wow. ;)

So do you have to have an i-pod, pad, phone etc to fly it?
I have a proper controller but attached my iphone or ipad to it so I can use the app, which not only shows what the camera is seeing but you have altitude, battery condition etc

My brother in law uses one for his work. Great fun.

When you get bored with it let me know...lol

That bloke behind your house could do with cutting his grass. But seriously, great quality picture - I'm quite surprised.

Just been up to the local reservoir to take some footage, the app comes with a little movie maker so I put this together, I got it up to 120m which is the highest I'm allowed to fly but you get some great views.

I'm impressed. The quality of the movie is very good. My house has close-up high trees + hedge in front, hiding it from the road. The estate agent got a good shot over all that 4 years ago when we bought. I thought at the time he must have used a long pole with a still camera, but now....
