My uncle growing up used to call them that and it stuck. He was in the Green Jackets in the 70's/80's. I've also worked with a few ex-Army guys over the years that called them the same - and very nice they are too!

I forgive you mate (Joking) - the Jackets were a definite asset at your back! Another piece of military tradition sold down the river by the 'powers that be'! I've had some happy times on the piss with them. Sadly their barracks and spiritual home is now a yuppy enclave ... Respect to your uncle
