Happy New Year.

Happy New Year everyone, here's hoping for a better 2021, may you all be happy, healthy & wealthy!
Graeme.

Happy New Year Everyone. Thanks for your support this year and keeping me in your thoughts and prayers. As John said I am really struggling sometimes with the after affects of this dreadful virus. Thank God my wife is a Respiratory therapist and calms me down when I have a spell and helps me get back on track of breathing. Hope 2021 finds us all well and get back to some kinda normal. Thanks again Lee.
So sorry to hear of your breathing difficulties, I myself have severe COPD but strangely not afraid of "Virus", not so sure about
world situation.

Hope you improve rapidly and all my best wishes for the new year.

Jim.

My general feelings about the new year.....sigh....we've seen only the tip of the iceberg,:worried:

Disagree lads. This year will improve as the vaccine roll outs happen. However, the vaccine manufacturers and richer nations need to be philanthropic and allow all countries, no matter how poor, requesit access to their vaccines. If they don’t, then the richer countries will be continually firefighting new outbreaks imported from those countries that cannot afford the protection vaccines bring. To get maximum impact from the unprecedented scientific effort of 2020 this year should be one of global effort, not party or country politics.

No probs Chris.
Something else, I know there are a lot of people that are wary of having the vaccine, either for internet conspiracy reasons or because they think the regulators cannot have done a proper job in that timescale. Please dont be.

As someone that spent thirty five years in the pharmaceutical industry I can categorically tell everyone that the vaccines passed by the MHRA and the FDA will be safe, efficacious, and fit for purpose. Those guys do not cut corners.
I have first hand experience of this, having spent the last twenty years of my career as a subject matter expert at my company. This meant that I was the one brought out to handle out face to face technical discussions with the regulators when they rolled up for audit. Further, I fielded questions from regulators around the world that were related to my particular discipline. You cannot pull the wool over their eyes, and if you are stupid enough to try they just dig further. The FDA in particular are trained as fraud investigator, assuming you are lying until you can prove otherwise. The MHRA are specifically focused on patient safety, not allowing anything on the market that poses a risk to recipients.
You can take the vaccine in the knowledge that all necessary test and data checking have been carried out before it hits the fridges for roll out.
