I have some old Squadron Green Putty that has gone fairly hard, so that it is very difficult to squeeze out of the tube

I thought I might try digging some out and stirring it into Mr Surfacer or Mr Dissolved Putty to make them just a bit thicker, so they're more like brush on fillers and less like brush on primers.

Any comments?

Hi Geoff . as Ian rightly says , adding some cellulose thinners will soften it up/thin it , I did this with a tube of Humbrol filler that had gone a bit stiff . I cut the tube open and put it in an old Tamiya paint jar ,then added cellulose thinners till it was the right consistency . Its good for when you only need a tiny bit or a thin smear , cheers tony

thanks for the replies. that's the sort of thing I was thinking of. I have acetone, cellulose thinners, and several empty tins & small jars; I'm sure I can manage something
