Amazing build Laurie, lots of detail and patience!
Steven

Thanks Steve very nice of you to comment.

Patience never been my greatest virtue probably my worst through out life.

However model making has definitely had an effect not only on my model
work but life in general. This has reduced stress. Good old model making.

Hi Laurie.
Complement's on the very neat lay out with the photos and text, most professional.
That's one load of PE, and soldered as well ! Sad as something with having asthma I have to resist, the fumes would just be too much .:disappointed:

Thanks John. A man of your age should be in bed. Only men of 81 such as I are allowed up late.

Thanks very much indeed John for your very nice comments.

Yes have found there are fumes. Did not realize at first. Now wear my face mask & in future will have a small fan blowing the stuff away.

Kind regards Laurie

Taking shape very nicely Laurie, and some great PE work.

Thanks Ian much appreciated.

It is a great kit with all the bits. It does with the conversion make for involvement with a lot
of the skills in model making. I have much pleasure in the DIY altering to suit what you want
to achieve. Great satisfaction

Just ordered the same kit (third mad) for part of a Falklands 1982 diorama on the Island of Wideawake.

Wideawake, that's the staging point if I'm correct in thinking, were the Victor Tankers and Vulcans lived. are you building them Laurie.

Yes that is right Ian.

On the shelf. Victor Vulkan Nimrod & Hurcules. All 1/72.

Also a Wessex & a few other bits & pieces 1/48

The 48s will be on the ground in the diorama with the 72 suspended
which will hopefully iron out the differences in scale.

Just love these large dioramas for me it gives a continuity plus I have built, & enjoyed,
a good number of models I may never have built.

Would I have ever taken two Snatch Landrovers & converted to a series 2 & a series 3
& enjoyed all that DIY. Just recommend this way of scale modelling you build up a
whole picture depicting a slice of history. Very rewarding.

Even have an Argentinian diorama 1982 to work on. Great lot of equipment.

Just time & keeping impatience in check. Even at 81 going on 82 life is a great living :tongue-out:
