Hi guys!!!
News from my workbench..............
Here comes my Fw 190 A-8 Tankbuster as an experimental aircraft.
In late 1944 Germany tried to master the ever-growing preponderance of enemy battle tanks.
New ways to combat enemy tanks were developed and tested.
With the Fw 190 A-8 there was an optimal weapons carrier for new solutions in destroying of enemy landcraft.
One of many attempts was to arm the A-8 with 30mm cannons "MK 103" from Rheinmetall-Borsig in two gunpods under the wings. A total of four prototypes were built in version A-8 and F-8. The armament with the MK 103 ran under the name "R3" (Rüstsatz 3). However, the tests did not run satisfactorily and so this project was discontinued.
My A-8 comes from Hasegawa and it's a solid kit that offers good proportions and nice details.
There were no significant problems during assembly. For the painting I mainly used Vallejo's Model Air colors. The "Schwimmwagen" and the two figures come from an old Italeri kit.
The display I built from a wooden panel, decorative sand, popsicle sticks and model grass.
Hope you like my "Tankbuster"..........
Have a nice weekend...
Cheers
Stefan
