Hello from the land of concrete cows and roundabouts....

Cool cows-nice story. Some images depicting our thing with Bison. Buffalo is the second largest city in New York state. It had many roundabouts when it was laid out in the horse & buggy days, but car & bus use seem to have had a bad influence on their use till recently.
Central rail terminal lobby.

Hi Andy welcome to the forum. I deliver down to Milton Keynes fairly frequently and it’s quite a unique place. It always gets a lot of stick for the number of roundabouts and the concrete cows but it also has a hell of a lot of green spaces and parks . The roundabouts do all tend to look the same though , when driving round you start to question the sat nav ,thinking to yourself ‘I’m sure I’ve already been round this one ?!’ Cheers tony

I agree it is a great town with loads of diverse interests - my son used to play Ice Hockey for the Milton Keynes Lightning , so visited there loads of times !

Thanks Tony.

You're right about the roundabouts, although apparently they were only ever meant to be temporary and should have been replaced by traffic lights.

And you're right about the green space. I believe that about 30% is officially designated at parkland and then there are the two huge lakes. One is for recreation and the other is for wildlife. We also have the Grand Union canal running though it too and the Great Ouse just to the north.

We also have a surprising amount of history too for a New Town. One of the parish churches is built on the site of a Norman castle and part of the motte is still there. Stony Stratford is an old coaching town going back several hundred years built on the old Roman Watling Street and was also the site of a Civil War, which Sealed Knot sometimes reenact. Wolverton on the north side is the world's first purpose built railway town that Isambard Kingdom Brunel visited when planning his works at Swindon. And then there is off course Bletchley Park!!!

Just an official Hi, :smiling3: Andrew.
Yes Dave is quite correct, please do not mention S***s , any where on this forum, Matron is on here way now so attend to Bob.
I personally like 4BO and lovely colour.

Oh John, need a word with you, matron has been with a bigger needle and where she stuck it made my eyes water, plus she used some new Stug addiction creme from Russia called 4Bo, now that rung a bell. 15 minutes later i was a lovely shade of green. Did not work though Stugs still rule lol. Revenge will be mind, now i need a scrubing brush!

Hi from an occasional visitor to MK. Tell me, where exactly are the concrete cows now?
Pete
