Hi Guys, just joined today, looking at starting military figures having done tanks and aircraft, also can I have some ideas on where people get thier military figures from, I’m looking at Pegaso, lovely models but quite expensive, thanks in advance, Ty

Hi Ty, welcome to the site. What scale and subject of figures are you interested in? There are a hugh number out there ;) Pegaso are top notch in quality, I believe, but it’s worth looking for reviewsbefore you shell out. Watch out for cheap recasters on EBay etc, they are both rubbish and illegal, stealing the original sculptors work..

Have a look at Elan13 small creator doing his own sculpts and reasonably priced.
Rado Miniatures are also very good.

Hi Tyron, welcome aboard. What level of figure painting are you at. Are you looking at starting from scratch or looking at a better challenge with more sophisticated sculps?

Cheers,
Richard

Wow guys. That was quick, I’ll check them out, starting with the bog standard Tamiya British ww1 set to start me off.

Tim's suggestion is good as you'll be able to find a mix of brands and sculpters from an agent rather than a specific style of sculpt.

Cheers,
Richard

Ty mate, just be aware that on the site I have posted the figures will mostly be White metal or Resin. Not many plastics on there.....

I study ancient warfare as a hobby and would like to make the things I read about, I’ve done some tanks and aircraft before.

Tyron

Welcome aboard. Can't offer you any assistance as I'm still learning but love your work on the AFVs.

ATB.

Andrew

Nice set of armour there Tyron.

The latest Tamiya plastic figures are pretty good and the WW1 figs you have chosen are quite well posed and each figure head has good features and character. The officer and the bloke charging are nicely posed.

Cheers,
Richard

Welcome Tyron.
Great bunch of people on here always willing to help.
Like the winter wash on the Hummel :thumb2:

Guys guys that's not a Hummel...it's a Nashorn. Different gun and front.

Cheers,
Richard

Tyron,
Welcome to the forum. - for plastic 1/35 figures try ICM https://icm.com.ua/catalog/?type=figure
They have a wide range of WWI figures & equipment & also some American Civil War Figures. The detailing is to a very high standard, and there are some offbeat sets - Zouaves, Moroccans, Sikhs etc etc as well as the rather creepy Chernobyl figures. John stocks a load of them in the shop.................
