Looks like the type 271 surface search radar housing? Fitted to escort ships...made of Perspex though, not metal...
 
Yep, fitted directly above the radar room ‘coz they hadn’t worked out how to make longer cables yet....

A little more progress - masts have been attached and she's ready for rigging now.

My spiders have been busy for the past few days and I'm calling the rigging done. Probably not entirely accurate as I had no rigging diagram and I had to rely on a few low-res historical photos of Arethusa class cruisers and box artwork.
Next step - #fixthatshit ; removing "battle" damage that happened during rigging, some touch-ups, some further weathering and adding Royal Navy flags.

The spiders have done a great job. Rigging is always tricky. This looks very good.
