Good start Ralph. Be interested to see how this Hobby Boss Tomcat builds up and looks when completed.

As an 80s kid this was the one! I remember one of my first kits was a tomcat jolly Rogers, can't think what kit it was... Love em, will be watching this one

Phil

I've almost completed the Hasegawa F-14A in 1/72, I'm interested to see how these two compare.

I like it!And Hobby Boss is ok i think for airplanes?

They are good in tanks so why not in airplanes :)

Thanks for all the comments Guy's.

More work will be done today.

Thanks Ian. :)

I added more weight after the pics, because after a test it wasn't enough.

The Hasegawa instructions say add 5 grams to the nose, does it not specify in yours how much to add?

Hi Rick.

No it does not specify.does not mention to add weight at all.

Not sure how much I added.

I test if it is enough by balancing the fuselage gently between my fingers at the centre of gravity and see how easily it tips forwards.

But if I was to guess how much weight I added I would say about 15 grammes

Looking good Ralph , just dont drop it on your foot!!! cheers tony

I did the 1/32 Trumpeter, and it needed a lot of weight as it is a natural heavy tail sitter. I packed the nose cone and under the cockpit with blue tack.

All looks great Ralph. It's strange to think the F14 is now retired.
