How did I find this site? I was looking for reference for AW Whiteley. So, if I wanted to see the pictures I had to sign up. Here I am.

i plonked in kd perkasa brave class on google and just went through them till i ended up here

I was wracking my brain on google looking for a model kit of the HH-60J "Jayhawk". I believe I searched: HH-60J model kit

There was a thread here from someone who did a conversion, and it was the 3rd or fourth link down in google. When I saw what the forum was about I signed up.

Guess I'll also use this post to give a little info.

Real name is Pete, I'm about a week out from hitting the 1/4 century mark. Live in Las Vegas, NV and my primary model building is in plastic military aircraft.

My current project is an F-14D Super Tomcat, I've just about finished painting and have started getting everything glued together. Will post pics when I am finished.

Hi all!

I Google'd KD Perkasa as I am was looking for photos or images. This site was one of the first in the list.

I have had a 37" fibre glass hull'd model (Precedent I think) in the loft for nearly 20 years I am ashamed to say. Together with 3 tugs plus various other wood and plastic models in varying stages of completion.

I used to make models of all sorts in my youth but have not touched anything for far too long due to moving and starting a family.

Anyway I have decided to rekindle my hobbies and want to start off with restoring a MTB I inherited. It is badged as PT201 which as some of you may know is an American Higgins type 78, transferred to the RN and served in the Mediterranean.

I am not sure yet how accurate it is as I have only just started searching for info. It is an all wood hull and is at least 30 years old. It looks like radio gear has never been fitted.

Any help, guidance or tips much appreciated! :emo5:

ps. My name is Terry.

Google search phrase: "model plastic moulding home"

I fly RC planes and was looking for a cheap and easy way pof making mouldings from plastic. Glow fuel can be quite pervasive as well as invasive!

Hi Terry and Slick, welcome to the Scale Models forum.

I hope you both find something usefull and interesting here to help with your projects and you both feel free to post your own experiences as they progress.

Most of all enjoy your time here.

Terry, If you have a look at the modelboatmayhem.co.uk forum you will find a lot of specific advice regarding the manufacture of model boats both old and new.

Found you doing research on Russian M-55 Geophysica, and the drawings are well under way.... THANKS

Hi All!

I found this forum when I was searching for info on how to paint models with google.

Greetings,

Hi,

I found this site while I was looking for a RC Military Model Club.

In the Blackpool/Lancashire Area:respect1:

How did I find it?

Found this forum by googling 'UK model forums' (I was looking for community with other modellers in the UK, obvious, I know).

I intend to get back into modelling, with some additional input from others' advice, etc.

That's the 'why' of how I found it...

Howdy Fossil, Bitbyte, Wheels, Mike, and Sacrsja,

Sorry for the group "welcome" I would have done it individually but I stopped getting email about this thread here while back. Anyway, we are glad all of you found us and look forward to hearing and seeing more of each of ya'll.

As you can probably tell, " I aint from round' here" I am from Arkansas in The US so I kinda' "tawk" funny sometimes lol.

But i just wanted to greet ya and tell ya to jump into any conversation that you find interesting, have experience in, can give advice on, or just want to comment on.

Dont be afraid to ask for help and by all means if you can help others, please do.

Look through the various memeber galleries, i think you will find photos of anything that might interest you and be sure to post photos of your work too, we all like to see what each other is doing.

Have a good day and welcome again,

Greg aka GEEDUBBYA (thats GW, its my initials, being from arkansas, it took me 9 letters to spell 2 letters). :grinball2:

Thanks for all the great modeling info.I am new to paper modeling and this is very useful.

Howdy 6Pack,

Well we are all glad to have you here. Like i said in the nascar post, if there is any specific models you want, all you have to do is ask and I probably have a link to them.

I do both cardmodels and plastic kits, but have kinda let the cardmodels slip by the wayside recently (building them i mean), but I still have tons of links to most any type model you can name from ships and subs, to jets, airplanes, helicopters, spacecraft, real and sci-fi, tractors, trucks, cars, motorcycles, animals, you name it.

If you want to try your hand at creating your own cardmodels, I have links to the free downloadable software that will allow you to create the image as well as the software that will allow you to "unfold" the image and lay it out for printing as a cardmodel. The software takes abit of getting used to and there is alot of trial and error, but learning to operate it is half the fun....with the other half being actually creating your own models.

Anyway, again, welcome to the forum and have a good day,

Greg aka GEEDUBBYA (GW)

Just joined; I did a Google search for 'scale modelling forum aircraft'

Howdy Mr Scruff,

No matter your tastes, we have something for everyone here. So look around, comment on any thread that interests you, give advice, ask questions, post photos of your work......post lots of photos :grinball2:. And by all means feel free to look thru the other members galleries, who knows, maybe they will give you some ideas.

Anyway, again, welcome to the forum and have a good day,

Greg aka GEEDUBBYA (GW)

Just joined; I did a Google search for 'how to scratch build a diesel loco'

Noobie, here.

Been a member of Aircraft Resource Center for years. Some of the guys who hang there hang here as well. So I figured, why not? The more the merrier.

I am located in Canada, by the way. Just on the suburbs of Toronto, Ontario.

Nice to be on board, so to speak.
