....the Swann Morton blade remover?

Not sure where to post this, but a delivery arrived from John with this tool. It is no more than a plastic box and is meant to make it easy to remove blades. Been fiddling around with it, trying to see how it works but not really sure. I guessed which way to fit the knife into it and pressed down and.... nothing. Tried it a few ways and it just does not seem to work.

I am sure that I am the problem as it is just a simple thing but what is it I am not doing? Does anyone know?

I have no idea LOL but some one who might could be a doctor or a dentist, Pretty sure they use them.

I just take them off with a pair od flat nose pliers. "dead blades" go into a hard plastic box with a lid. A tic-tac mint box actually.

Easy way Barry is to get a small pair of plyers.

Wear specs.

Lift the back edge of the blade & push away form the body comes off easily slip old blade into into blue blade remover box while still held by plyers.

Using plyers hold new blade & lay carefully front of blade on front of the slot of knife. With plyers grab the back edge of the blade lifting slightly. Pull the blade backwards & it will slip perfectly on to knife slot release & finished.

The blue remover box does work but I think that it is lethal if the blade breaks. I struggled with the box method as it is very crude. The box is first class for storing these lethal blades

With the plyers method the sharp end of the blade is always away from the body.

Another pliers user here as well.This gadget looks like a bit of the health and safety brigades kit.Not really necessary but convenient I suppose (sorry John!).

Well it works. Tried it out last night.... Just have to put the knife in far enough.

I must just be dangerous, i have always just forced the the back of the blade up with me thumb and slid them off pushing from the back....perhaps i'd better buy one.
