How many model kits do you have waiting in the wings?

So as you will probably know, I'm fairly new back to modelling as a hobby, after an absence of 40+ years.
But I have already made two model in the last few weeks and I also have a small "stash" of 6 other models, just waiting for me to build them.

No doubt I will have many others too in the next few weeks/months, as I have my eye on a couple that I am thinking about buying. Actually, who am I kidding? I AM going to buy them!

The thought occurred to me, how many "stashed" models do other members of the SMF have? eg: in the attic, under the stairs, in that cupboard that nobody else uses? etc, etc. I suspect that my so far very small collection of only six is a tiny fraction of what most on here will have, and it would not surprise me if some have more "stock" than a small shop!

So come on, spill the bins, fess up, how many you got? 😂😀😂👍👍👍

I suspect my stash in tiny compared to others.

I have about 15 unstarted models but more disappointing for me is the 6 models which I've started but parked for a while. I've had a particularly bad last year with modelling but hopefully this will pass as winter approaches and I spend more time indoors.

I've also deliberately avoided buying models this year until I've reduced my stash slightly and finished some of what I've started.

Like Mike I have about 15. At least 6 of those are larger 1/32 including F15, F16, BAE Hawk, EE Lightning, Spitfire and Appollo Command Module so there is months of building just in those. Problem for me is where to put them when built. Most of them end up boxed and in the loft.
I dont consider that I have a stash problem quite yet but I do find it hard not to buy a kit when visiting the local model shop. I did see a post that I thought was hilarious that highlights the buying problem. The guy said he has been modeling for 4 years, has completed 4 models, is working on another three making a total of 7 but has 90 in the stash. Enough said I fear. I think you will see that some members have massive amounts in their stash and may require counselling at some point.:):)

I have more than I will be able to build in my lifespan, but I do wish to build all of them though... Just don't have the time available... Once in a while I go over them and try to sell a few that lost my interest. Cheers

This has been covered a few times and there are certainly those that have more than they could ever build.

Personally I try not to buy anything unless I know I'm going to build it. I may get a kit in advance for a group build, but generally I buy one, and whilst I'm building it I'll keep a look out for the next.

Got it down to about 200 but all in storage at the mo.......new stash since i got going again is 11......and i swore id only buy one once i finished one so i wouldnt have a stash! Epic fail

I have about the same number of kits in my stash as there are threads on the forum about how big my stash is. So a good heap.

I’ve got a rather modest stash of 19, all 1/72 scale aircraft plus another 5 on the “shelf of doom” which I am slowly trying to clear 😊.

Geoff.

As I’ve stated on previous threads on the same subject. My stash is - well - None, Zero, Nada.

I will admit to having a previously started kit sat on a shlef, (75% completed), waiting for my skill level to improve, other than that I only build one at a time so can’t be bothered to store any more than I can build/paint.
