Hi All,

I've only been doing modelling since June 2025 and am very new to the hobby but I have a 'type' since I did a pivot table of the data from Scalemates (thank you Scalemates). It only happened with Eduard because of their overtrees (see other post) but I am definitely going to branch out to other manufacturers soon once I run down my current stash.

That by itself is a challenge since I went through a period of buying and have a total of 32 models after a buying spree and have a serious control problem with 'wowsah, new model - hit buy'. The urge to buy new models despite only doing about 2 a month now is very strong.

Holy cow Dave,

How do u manage all that. Most of the manufacturers Ive never even heard of lol.

Lol, only 32...... must try harder....! :D;) (y)

Edit, I remember doing a training session years ago on how to use Pivot tables in MS Excel at work, looked great, very useful, etc, etc.
Went back to work, did not use excel for few days, then after about a week or so, I thought, ooh yea Pivot Tables, I'll have ago at making one of those, but, erm, completely forgot how to do it..... computer says no......Lol!:LOL::LOL:

Stashitis. A disease very common to scale modellers.
Often referred to as CKBS. (Compulsive Kit Buying Syndrome)

Symptoms. An overwhelming desire to keep buying kits.
An I'll build that one day state of mind.
Overwhelming desire to cling on to old kits no matter what.
Stash quantity becomes so overwhelming it becomes difficult to decide what to build.
Stash quantity making a model shop's stock look insignificant.
Stash quantity becomes large enough to outlast builder's life expectancy.
A 'Will that kit become valuable as a collectors item?' mentality.
Compulsive buying of that next kit upgrade or retool.

Cure. Sadly, no real cure for this mental illness, but hypnotherapy may help the compulsive buyer
to not keep buying kits unnecessarily.

Rehab. Selling on kits at half the price you paid for them at shows.
Donating to worthy causes or charity shops.
Selling off as a collection to dealers at great financial loss.
Auctioning most off with no reserve price and hoping for a good return.
Flog on EBay with all that incurs with pricing, packing and posting.

After Care. No help phone lines, face to face or on line councelling currently available.

Having done this analysis, I am sure that it will be of no help whatsoever to the compulsive kit buyer ! LOL

I'm afraid its worse than that.

I am looking to turn a bedroom into a display room for my die-cast and personally made plastic models and miniatures.

I'm costing it out at the moment and I am on a campaign to get it allowed by the immediate family but I know they will go along with it. I don't know how long it will take to do but I'm looking forward to the expansion of my current footprint.
