I LIVE IN LEICESTER!!

What's happening in Leicester. Forgive my ignorance...haven't read the news and am in the Far east. If it's the lockdown then stay safe Gary.

Cheers,
Richard

Stick with it buddy, just two weeks or so and it will be lifted......better safe than sorry....

Hi Gary
Stay safe and do the right things. Protect yourself and others.

When everyone else gets a further easing on 4th July (though most people seem to have assumed we are already there, at least in Birmingham) poor old Leicester doesn't, due to a recent spike in infection rates. That should be put into perspective. It's 866 new cases over a two week period, in a city with a population of about half a million.

This hasn't been thought through. Responsible people will adhere to the guidance, but a substantial minority will not. If they need a service which has been kept closed in Leicester they will simply drive somewhere else to get it. That seems like a good way of spreading the virus to me.

The continued restrictions in Leicester are not enforceable, despite government bluster about 'new laws'. The city will not be behind barbed wire, nor will there be a police car on every road out of the city, checking vehicles. This is the UK, not the PRC!

Hopefully, most will agree to the continued inconvenience, but it torpedoes the 'we are all in it together' mentality so important to keeping the public on board.

Hi Chris

Got a nice pension lump sum coming and its my retirement pressie to me! Doing research and theres 2 in Leicester which are tempting. Would buy a StuG but will not fit on the drive:angry:

Can you not arrange to see the car(s) while staying within the guidelines?

Leicester will be under the same restrictions that we all are, or are supposed to be, until July 4th.

I'm no expert, just seems like it could be done. I'm sure that the seller will be as keen to sell as you might be to buy :)

Cheers

Steve

Hi Steve, yet to ring them but will see whats on offer. Still looking around

USE the money an widen your drive an then stug time just think what your SWMBO would say i bet she will be pleased lol ps an if stuck in a traffic jam you could just blow them all out of the way lol

Well to be honest i'll not be surprised if other places follow suit. If people are stupid enough to flout the 2m ruling and/or social gathering protocols such as at certain recent marches or a god awful team winning a sport event, then this is what is going to happen.

Quite glad i live in the middle of nowhere.

Now Chris, sound idea but would have to knock down a large chunk of the house, that might lose me what i hold dear:anguished::astonished:
