Going on archaeological digging, the sand in Egypt is quite "blue" in open areas and gets slightly redder the closer you get to any flowing water source due to the sandstone being eroded and therefore introducing a clay type silt into the mix.

what i'm geekily trying to say is that if its been put way wet after driving along a shore then it'd look like it does in the images above ... nice job by the way Ian, very realistic !!!

Ian, for me the sand color is perfect, as the modulation you do.

Is very fine!! And the chipping effect is great.

Fantastic work friend.

I can see no problem with the sand colour Ian but i do see a great build looking forward to the base

So I'll just have to have it standing a place where there is a bit of water and I'm in the clear...

Hmm an oasis?

Well its the first tomorrow and all my base making materials are still frozen!!!

So I am calling this done. For now. I will make a base when I get a bit of time. In the mean while there are a couple of photos in the finished section for those that are interested.
