Well after a long week playing with planking and glue I have put the last plank of the first layer on the hull... Gaaaabbbbbb. The Stern, aft of the props has yet to be planked. Even steamed planks have been tried and trashed... It kind of like trying to plank a pool ball. Its about that size.
Seriously considering a block of balsa and carving it to shape.
I bought some plastic padding two part filler yesterday to even out the hull's first layer of planks and hopefully the final lay will be a bit better.
I will be taking a little pause for a while, whilst I work up a game plan for the next round.
To remind me and to keep an eye on the objective:

The cabin is 99% done. Just need a gas lever and a few dials maybe. Also a hand rail. Its made, just need to fit it...

The Deck needs a couple of coats of varnish, Satin? maybe matt? The mahogani bits need a swipe with a bit more gloss
This was yesterday morning, you can see the extreme curves that need to be pulled at the stern. First (wooden) boat with such a rump. Others have been either a flat or curved transom or they have been double enders, (a pointy bit each end).

Here you can clearly see that not all the planks wanted to play nice.
All fun.
Catch you later. comments welcome, as always.
