Yep, the early regulators were in a round box. I had to scratch build one for my Mk I 1/32 Spitfire recently. I'll be scratch building one like the photo above for my floatplane.

Unfortunately for me I only really noticed the regulator was for a Mk I AFTER I had fitted it and mounted the frame so that ship has sailed. lol

Right then had a couple of hours to myself this afternoon so got a few bits sorted:

Office sorted. I even got the seat hung up on the "adapted" mounting.

The observant would have noticed that there was no stick in the cockpit. not a mistake as it was easier to put in through the bottom and could be done after the fuselage came together.

I think my CA has finally gone off. I am now on my third attempt at trying to attach the resin elevators to the plastic tail wings. So now cleaned off and sitting in a clamp with some Gator grip to see if that can do the job. Hope so as I don't want to have to drill and pin them.

Ian that office is looking really sharp! I like those clamps you are using for the fuse where do you get 'em? I keep my c/a in the fridge in a zip lock bag (keeps the Wife happy and cuts down on condensation in the bottle which will kill the c/a quickly) it keeps longer.

Cheers Trey. The Berna clamps where a gift from Laurie as he could not get on with them. Not sure where you can buy them but I am sure a good model shop may have them....

My bottle of CA has been living around the hobby room for almost two years, so hardly a surprise that it is dead. I was an experiment to see just how long it would last. Now I know. it lasts just until you really need it. lol.

It's a big bugger lol. Now I know why I dont build in this scale!! The tail planes being resin are setting up with Gator grip which is why there is a ton of tape holding them hopefully at the right angle.

While waiting for bits to dry I found a small brush and set about painting Ginger and Giles. what ya think any good?
Ginger is way to overdressed for the Med. Giles has also the long trousers... Question. RAF desert. is it it correct that they also had the army tropical uniform. Think I was a photo some place...

Ginger and Giles look pretty good from where I sit Ian. As for uniform in the Western Desert, this may be of interest:

Men dressed to suit these conditions and the blue uniform of the RAF was rarely seen. In summer everyone wore khaki shorts, shirt and an RAF cap; in winter the uniform was khaki battle dress, augmented by every sweater and jersey on which the wearer could lay his hands, so cold were the nights.

If you could find army figures in desert khakis wearing side caps that would also work. It does say 'rarely seen' as opposed to 'never'.

Maybe I should pose the Spit with half (at least) naked women, plenty of them to be found.....Quite a few that I wouldn't dream of posting on here as well!!!

Been looking for 8th army types as well but they to are as rare as rocking horse droppings as well.

S'pose If I was mental enough I could amputate Giles above the knees and do a Bader on him....

A better look at the cannons, well one of them...They look a lot better than the kit ones..
Just been doing the little bits yesterday and today, masking and fitting the windows and putting some interior green down on the frames. also remembered to paint the inside of the door while I had the colour in the airbrush.

Anyone got a got picture of the arrester hook on a Seafire Mk I.....
