Italeri SR 71 Blackbird

Mr. Ketchup in the house Colin...For only 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there, she's definitely a real beauty, with a fantastic finish!!! Like Chris said, the modulation came out great. It must be pretty big, being 1/72 too...

BTW, if you're ever in my neighborhood, I have a few walls that need a coat on them!!!.........Taxi!!!..................

Prost

Thank you Allen. It was a nice model to paint, because you get to play.

How could you. There am I just recovering from the trauma of decorating, and you suggest more. Where's my nurse ?

Sorry Colin,I’ve just seen this one. What a great finish with the paint job, it looks fantastic. Great work mate.

Thank you Mr race, and please do pass on my gratitude to matron and the committee.

Top work colin and who doesnt love a ‘Habu’ . The faded paintwork is perfect , cheers tony

Once again, I've been a bit busy in the real world, with a fair bit of 1:1 painting, paints by Dulux. Have I said before I'm not a fan of decorating. And it all started with a simple statement; 'I'd like to re-model my aquarium'
Ma'am replied, 'great let's go and buy some paint' I soon realised what she meant.
Anyway, as a way of preserving sanity, I've managed a bit of 1:72 work just a a diversion away from the 1:1 work.
The Italeri Blackbird. Not many parts in the box, so it was great for the odd 10 minutes here and there I was able to give it.
Luckily, there's a wealth of information on line, loads of pictures of some quite tired machines. So, here's my really dark, dark grey Blackbird.

Too small a scale for me I'm afraid...
However... I can still appreciate a nice model...
And that certainly is a VERY NICE Blackbird indeed... A classic plane, and a cracking model mate :)

The Blackbird looks amazing in the matt dark grey Colin.

Thank you. For a mono-tone finish, it actually gained a very varied finish to its paint work due to many miles covered and the speed it was flying at. Forgetting altitude of course.

Brilliant! So purposeful looking

Miko (have one in the stash for an RAF 39sqn Blackbird R1 'what if?' )
