Many of our kits are made in China, I have a KV -2 some where on Its way, ordered early in January.
I did have notification that it may be held up !
Reading this morning that sales are down on Amazon and E bay on items coming from China.
I can see shortages of all kits produced in China starting to become apparent over the next few months due to so many factories being closed down .
Thoughts please .

I was wondering about this as well John - I ordered a Bronco Humber A/C a couple of weeks back supposedly for delivery late Feb/early March.

I suspect that will not happen as they have rather more urgent matters to contend with

Most airlines and shipping companies are understandably giving China a wide berth at the moment.

Hi guys , thanks for replying.

My order was posted on the 14 th Jan, and according to China Post Tracking had left the country.
So when I get it will be interesting, of course Mrs R is not keen on having it in the house ! :upside:

Ok Simon,

You're getting the cleaning bill for that one!!! Coffee everywhere………………..

I would expect that any imports from China will be affected. Taking precautions - discarding the wrappings, and washing your hands after handling can't do any harm - I would suggest an antiseptic wash, but that might be tough on anything electronic!
The Trumpeter & HobbyBoss websites have both been down for almost two weeks now, their HQ is near Macau in the South of China, but no idea where they actually produce parts

Surprise, surprise ;) I have two Stug Neo's on order and been told by the seller there will be a delay, bugger

I will get the postie to open them while standing about a mile away and hiding behind a large umbrella ;)

I never get things from china anyway. Always to afraid of getting hammered by customs (and the Post Office).

Hi John
If you are that worried about the virus, spray the items with a 70% alcohol spray and leave then ten minutes. That will sanitise them. It’s how we brought kit into clean areas in pharmaceutical manufacture.....hand gel will also do a better job than hand washing.....

Dave I was actually thinking along those lines as well, about the wrapping, might sound a bit extreme to some but it can't hurt to wash your hands using an antiseptic wash.

We lived in Hong Kong when there was a cholera out break and that was bad enough, everything had to be washed in permanganate before we could eat any fresh fruit.

Another option is to tell Mrs R that you inadvertently opened a package from China and now you will need to spend two weeks self isolation in the man cave ...... just in case you understand....

Great idea Tim, thank you, I have some neat alcohol that I mix down with water for normal use, but will make some up when gotta strength when the parcel arrives .

I'm not one for sending normally Al, but this model was none existent anywhere in the UK.

Don't get me wrong John. I've seen the kits (mostly 1/32 Hasegawa Fw190A8s) for sale at roughly £25 in both China and Japan. Rarely, if ever, find them here. But i am totally skint so getting 'additional' HMRC and PO charges just isn't an option.
