Walking the dog this afternoon has got me wondering if I need to go much, much lighter/brighter?

Not sure if you need to go lighter Jack, but unless it’s colour monitor issues, I think you may need to go yellower…..especially if you are going for summer. The 4BO version looks like mid winter grass. Looks fabulous though, it’s a real head turner I think.

I agree with Tim. The first pictures you posted of the "real thing" are much yellower and more vibrant, if that's what you're aiming to replicate.

Please don't take that as a criticism though, I think it looks great, just answering the question 🙂

Always after criticism Andy! I'm not completely going for the film set version, but I am aiming for realism to a certain extent. Thank you!

Tim Marlow and Andy T 100% correct in throwing more yellow into the mix. I think the grass tone is there, other than a bit of brush work with some buff for some dry/dead stuff.

Getting there Jack. Still looks a bit Scot’s pine or winterish to me, but, as I said, that’s probably monitor colouration, not accurate to life. As you get the rest painted up it will snap into focus I think. That’s the trouble with nature, it has an infinitely variable palette to chose from…..Going to look great when it’s all done though, really like the texture you’ve built up.

I do agree Tim, on all counts. It does look a fair bit 'greyer' on screen, but it is also a bit pine as you say. I'll have to go shopping though as I've exhausted my mix of greens. I can only mix the very dull (camo) greens I already have with yellow or white, I don't have any blues!
