That hood looks much better the way you have modelled it. The wider original piece represents the hood full cover.

Started to add the final extras. With the chrome windscreen & lights I actually now found the clear plastic bits of the kit are missing
but no worries, luckily their easy enough bits to make out of an empty plastic bottle so cut rectangular bit for windscreen & small round bits for the 2 main lights. I then decided that instead of the chrome horns to be fitting to the front I wanted 2 more smaller lights, so I cut the ends off old glue lids (in picture) then cut small clear plastic circles to fit on them too.
